Starn Studio
I stumbled upon the work of Mike and Doug Starn while perusing the 20X200 website and fell in love. I fell hard. truly, madly, deeply. The trees, insects, and plants resonate somewhere deep within. Light, shade & layering combine to create striking photographs. I’m sad that all of their prints are sold out on 20×200.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with 20×200, do yourself the favor and check out the website where great art is as inexpensive as $20. Each print is released in 3 limited editions – 200 8.5×11 prints at $20 each, 20 17×22 prints at $200 each, and two 30×40 prints at $2000 each. They’ve been selling out quickly the last few weeks, so I recommend checking in on Tues or Wed when new prints are released.
Those prints are beautiful, good find!
i used to have a crush on the starn brothers. they are twins and they broke out in the art community in the early 90s to quite a big hoopla. they look exactly alike and at the time had really sexy fucked up long knotty hair. they were kinda “pretty/ugly” if you know what i mean. their work KILLS me, too. it’s amazing.
Chloe – thanks! and thanks for stopping by. Eliz- i saw their picture on the website – they are ruggedly handsome. i just want to live in their world. ugh.
Thanks for sharing, Leigh. These are beautiful photos.
