Kernel of an Idea

I need your help.

I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for the last couple of months, and I’ve finally decided that it’s time to make my opportunity. I don’t want to sit around and wait for the perfect circumstances to arrive. I want to actively create them.

I want to produce and direct a new theatrical piece in 2009. I’ve had my heart set on teaming up with a choreographer and sound designer/composer to collaborate and build a project from the ground up. I’ve approached a good friend (who is a choreographer and also wants to be a producer) and we are in talks to form a theater company and begin the long road ahead.

Our initial inspirations for the piece are a sense of longing/yearning, the notion of hope and fantasy. So here is my plea for help – send me your photographs, illustrations, paintings, poems, songs, etc that you think embody a sense of longing, yearning, hope or fantasy (constantcravingsblog [at] gmail [dot] com). They just might work themselves into the final selects that we will use to create the piece.

In addition, I promise to share my favorites on this blog. Keep your eyes out for the tag – untitled theater project – where I’ll be talking about my progress.
