Ikat Invasion

February 26, 2009

We are in the midst of a serious Ikat invasion. What started on the runways a few seasons ago has trickled down into the home decor and is now available in the mass market. A traditional print made from weaving dyed yarn, Ikat is indigenous to many parts of the world including Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Central America and South America. Now, we are all able to enjoy this wonderful ethnic print courtesy of Urban Outfitters, Pottery Barn, Net-a-porter, Bergdorf’s and Nordstrom’s. Excellent and thrilling.
